Bloggers hold forth…more: Panel at CUNY

Posted in Upstaged by Helen Shaw on July 7th, 2009 at 5:39 pm

tubesThe magical series of tubes that is our beloved Internet gets the full panel treatment, with multimedia presentation—and you have to actually be there in person (remember “in person”?) to experience it. This Wednesday at CUNY, Erik Piepenburg—better known as senior producer for theater at The New York Times—will be talking about the online shenanigans in his section (like how they do the slide and audio shows), with a postpresentation discussion by Garrett Eisler of Playgoer, Isaac Butler of Parabasis and, ah, me. We’ll be discussing how the Interwebs have changed theater coverage—both for good and ill. I’ll just tag this as “bashful self-promotion” and hope that those who show up all remember that I am a little bit better at “dishing it out” than “taking it.” Be gentle, everybody!

Hello Helen! I was in the audience tonight. I wish I’d gotten a chance to meet you. I’m a theatre blogger myself, although in sort of a different genre of it. I blog about my personal experiences earning my MFA in Acting at http://www.angelaacts.com

Anyway. Thank you for being a part of the panel tonight. I found it all very interesting. :)
