If you’ve never visited the Lesbian Herstory Archives—a lovely Park Slope brownstone that’s chock-full of books, photos, personal papers, videos and ephemera that gives an amazing overview of, well, lesbian herstory—do go and check it out. And whether you’ve been there or not, get out your checkbook and support it on this, the organization’s 35th anniversary. An art benefit on Saturday, December 19, will send more than 80 lucky raffle-ticket holders home with tiny pieces of artwork from 80 lesbian artists. And while those tickets sold out weeks ago, you can still get in on the festivities by viewing the pieces, enjoying the banter of MCs Moe Angelos (of the Five Lesbian Brothers) and milDRED (the artist formerly known as the drag king Dred) and rubbing elbows with some of the coolest, most cultured dykes around.
