Leave it to three overachieving college seniors to land a collection premiere among socialites at Cellar Bar on the busiest night of Fashion Week. The one-year-old brand, Ball and Buck (the name stems from the American tradition of shotgunning started by George Washington), is a traditional American clothing line based on personalized creations made with friendly organic cotton. Each style, whether it’s a V-neck tee or a simple dress, is adorned with a unique hand-stitched pocket made out of vintage or recycled materials like old hip checkered fabric. While the actual show was a bit elementary, with college students draping tees over their leggings and wading through the tiny space, their effort didn’t go unnoticed. I give props to anyone who can pull off something decent on such a hectic night.—Anna Brand
