Your weekly sample sale update, part one

French Sole, originator of the ballerina flat, first opened its tiny shoe shop in 1989 on the Upper East Side. For 20 years, they’ve continued to stock more than 5,000 pairs of shoes, library-style, with sales staff climbing up and down ladders to retrieve footwear. The store is now unloading its stock of samples (more than 300 different models!), many of which were too expensive to produce in mass. You can now snag these one-of-a-kind handmade gems at drastically reduced prices. Paint-splashed suede ballet flats are halved to $105, woven leather sandals are $109 (as opposed to $200), and linen espadrilles are clipped from $170 to $59. 976 Lexington Ave at 71st St (212-472-9200). Subway: 6 to 68th St–Hunter College. Mon–Fri 10am–7pm, Sat 11am–7pm, Sun noon–6pm. Thu 2–July 13.

If a beanbag and lava lamp are the focal points of your apartment, it’s time to ditch the dorm-room decor for more sophisticated wares. Spruce up your space at this annual summer blowout with silk-screened vases, tagged $200 (instead of $285) and Hobnail glassware for $39 (as opposed to $55); and ensure your apartment stays tidy with a Dyson vacuum, sliced from $400 to $199. 407 E 59th St at First Ave (212-755-9079). Subway: N, R, W to Lexington Ave–59th St; 4, 5, 6 to 59th St. Mon–Fri 11am–7pm; Sat 10am–7pm; Sun 11am–6pm. Thu 2–Aug 2.

We’re a sucker for cute kids’ clothes, and this upscale children’s depot takes the cake for stocking its shelves with aww-worthy garb. Its annual summer blowout offers up to 50 percent off clothing for newborns to six-year-olds. Ruffled baby bloomers are halved to $15, three-tone silk dresses are chopped from $108 to $49, and appliqué tees are $25 (were $55). 493 Sixth Ave between 12th and 13th Sts (212-255-3553). Subway: F, V to 14th St; L to Sixth Ave. Thu 2, Fri 3, Mon 6–Wed 8 11am–7pm; Sat 4 10am–5pm.

Not all sales are created equal. While we dig anything that’s discounted, we appreciate it even more when designers mark down current collections instead of old leftovers. Take Nicole Miller, who is serving up her new spring and summer merchandise for at least 50 percent off. Harem pants are halved to $150, sequin halter dresses are slashed from $550 to $275, and rayon coats are $398 (were $795). Hats off to you, Nicole.  77 Greene St between Broome and Spring Sts (212-219-1825). Subway: 6 to Spring St • 780 Madison Ave between 66th and 67th Sts (212-288-1825). Subway: 6 to 68th St–Hunter College. Thu 2–Sun 5.
