    Father’s Day spa specials

Posted in Shopping, Spas & Sport by Rachel LeWinter on June 17th, 2009 at 5:53 pm

Don’t forget: Father’s Day is June 21. Instead of buying a tie for the umpteenth time, pick out something you know he’ll enjoy. If he’s local, pamper your pa (or treat yourself!) to one of these discounted spa specials designed for deserving dads.

The main attraction at this Clinton Hill spa is its tricked-out wet room. The 10,000-square-foot space, designed by Great Jones Spa mastermind Donna Creagh, also houses a restaurant and bar and nine treatment rooms. If your dad feels uncomfortable going to a spa alone, buy him the “Father’s Day to Remember” package ($280 per couple, normally $350), which allows him to bring a guest. The duo will receive a 30-minute European facial, a 30-minute Swedish massage and champagne, and will have full access to the spa’s wet lounge. 275 Park Ave at Washington Ave, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn (718-923-9400, bodybybrooklyn.com). Through June 30.

Don’t be subtle, tell your dad you think he’s swell with the “Best Dad Ever” package ($199, instead of $280), which includes a 30-minute aromatherapy body scrub, a one-hour European body massage, a spa facial with a papaya exfoliating mask—and to make the deal even sweeter—champagne and chocolate to wind down the three-hour treatment. Or tell him how you feel with the “I Love You Dad” special ($95, as opposed to $100), which consists of a relaxing one-hour full-body massage (surrounded by aromatherapy candles and fresh cut flowers), and topped off with champagne and chocolate. 315 W 57th St between Eighth and Ninth Aves (212-245-6557). Through June 31.

    Face to Face NYC
Treat your loving pa to the ultimate day of pampering. The “Triple Play” package for $350 (instead of $390) includes the Y Chromosome facial (normally $160), the Ultimate Massage (usually $130), and the Scrub n Glow treatment (was $100). Or buy any single treatment à la carte and take 20 percent off. The real draw for the fellas will be the complimentary bar service—beer, wine or tequila shots for your enjoyment. 20 W 20th St between Fifth and Sixth Aves, suite 603 (212-633-0404, facetofacenyc.com). Through June 30.

    Ayromist Spa
Grooming upkeep isn’t always on the top of a man’s to-do list. Treat the man in your life to a treatment he would never buy for himself from Ayromist Spa, which specializes in (almost painless) hair removal. A goatee shape-up using electrolysis is $60 (regularly $65), a unibrow cleanup using wax (no regrowth for three to six weeks!) is $15 (was $20), and shoulder-hair removal with electrolysis is $100 (normally $105). 214 W 29th St between Seventh and Eighth Aves, room 901 (866-481-3432). Through July 31.

    Iguazu Day Spa
Is your dad an eco-crusader? All treatments (except for the nail services) at this full-service salon and spa use 100 percent natural ingredients—so dad will definitely approve. The “Dad’s Detox” package ($198, normally $278) includes a one-hour peppermint-infused deep-tissue massage to relieve tension and muscle knots followed by a men’s facial to detoxify and give a boost to his skin. 350 Hudson St between Charlton and King Sts (212-647-0007, iguazudayspa.com). Through June 30.

    Red and White Spa
For the cost of a night of drinking, you can spoil your deserving dad with a relaxing massage. Choose any type of massage (Swedish, deep-tissue, hot-stone, etc.) ($69, was $90–$120) and surprise him with your thoughtfulness. 484 Broome St at West Broadway (212-343-9449, redandwhitespa.com). Through June 30.
