Tom Hanks ponders the antimatter bomb, a plot device that's about as believable as his acting.
Angels & Demons, the prequel to the The Da Vinci Code, strays closer to reality than the latter by depicting the Illuminati stealing antimatter from the CERN laboratory in Geneva for the nefarious purpose of blowing up the Vatican.
From 7pm tonight at the Picnic Market and Cafe, Michael Tuts, Columbia University physics professor and U.S operations program manager for the ATLAS project at CERN, will explain slowly and in a clear voice what goes on at the lab.
Use our CliffNotes version of Tuts’s talk to get your head around tiny black holes and alternate dimensions, both of which are more likely to have some basis in reality than The Da Vinci Code.
Note to crazies: The comments box below is there for you to prove that staring for long enough at The Last Supper reveals indisputable “proof” of the existence of antimatter bombs. Knock yourselves out.
