Like in a Project Runway challenge, the students—and a few faculty members—at the Rhode Island School of Design were asked to deconstruct, rethink and rework Gap’s classic spring cardigan to create original garments that reflect their individual style. If math isn’t your strong suit, we’ll explain our headline: The results are incredible. Today through Sunday all 30 one-of-a-kind cardigans ($68 each) will be available exclusively at Gap’s rotating concept venue adjacent to its flagship store at 54th Street and Fifth Avenue. The proceeds go to RISD, but the pieces are expected to go fast (Did we mention there are only 30?!?), so we suggest you stop reading this and go! Here, a sneak peek of some of the students’ work:
