Call me picky, but the Duckie Brown show left a lot to be desired in my book. I consider myself pretty progressive, but I can’t yet grasp the whole dress-for-men idea. And there was one: a royal blue, to-the-knee sweater vest that, though worn over a sleek black tee and slacks, still looked like a dress. And while we’re at it, the tight, shiny tees looked more for ski slopes than runways, and the boxy sweaters seemed like they might have been rescued from the closet of a grunge teen circa 1994.
I might have been able to get behind the sport coat–shorts combo, but the tights underneath made it feel a little too like a little boy in knickers. At the same time, there was something oddly futuristic about the little gloves and geometric patterns, mostly black with pops of color. But at the end of the day, this girl’s not yet ready for the future.
