As I took my seat at the Charlotte Ronson show, I was determined to get a glimpse of Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, and while I was sitting on the wrong side of the runway to do so (booo!), I did see the massive swarm of photographers around them. Disappointed with the lack of Lindsay sightings, I settled in to focus on the clothes.
It’s official: I am in love with Ronson’s spring collection, because almost every look sent down the runway was totally wearable in real, nonmodel life! She showed a cohesive collection ranging from gray tones to bright coral hues, floral patterns and jean. Some personal faves: a one-shoulder floral-patterned flowy dress, black-and-white miniskirt suit, swingy sweaterdress with pockets and the layering of a tank dress over a T-shirt—hello, simple dressing! I’m questioning: the belted jean-shorts jumper sent down the runway, and the midcalf-rise fishnet tights. All in all, the collection was pretty spectacular.
So when the show was over and the lights came back up, I figured it couldn’t hurt to walk down the runway toward where Lindsay and Samantha had been—one last shot at my peek, right? I made it to the entrance of the runway with no Lohan luck, but found myself with other members of the press (looking way more official than I with badges and huge camera crews) and wound up going backstage—what an unexpected rush! I scored some not at all professional-looking photos of Charlotte Ronson and Annabelle Dexter-Jones (model and Ronson’s stepsister), then everyone got the boot.
Feeling pretty successful, I headed outside just in time to see the paparazzi sprinting all over Bryant Park. I promptly ran as fast as my high heels could take me and there they were—Lindsay and Samantha! With the bodyguards and crazy photogs all over the place it was difficult, but I took the best photo I could. Again, not at all professional, but if you look closely you’ll see the side of L.L.’s head.
