Anyone remember Arli$$? Yeah, our recollection of that bygone HBO series ain’t terribly sharp either. But we were psyched all the same when local singing-songwriting marvel Graham Smith (alias KGW, or Kleenex Girl Wonder)—whose ’08 album, Yes Boss, topped TONY Music scribe Hank Shteamer’s year-end best list—performed a tune about Robert Wuhl’s titular sports agent as part of our Live at Time Out series, formerly known as Perfect Pitch. Smith has just dropped a new full-length, Mrs. Equitone, which you can grab here, and next Thursday, June 18, he hits the Upstairs Lounge at Pianos for a free 6pm solo show. Half a year after providing TONY with a custom-made holiday song, he showed up at our office this week in full Arli$$ regalia to bust out “Heartless”:
