Joell Ortiz — “Get Money”
On May 13, Joell Ortiz and Green Lantern put out Covers the Classics, with the Slaughterhouse MC spitting more than 33 legendary hop-hop instrumentals. On the mixtape, this song is limited to a 50-second sample; here is the full three-minute-plus version over Junior Mafia’s “Get Money.”
Freddie Gibbs — “Flamboyant Freestyle”
The Gary, Indiana, MC makes the Big L instrumental all his own. Keep an eye out for his upcoming The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs, scheduled for a May 19 release.
Donny Goines ft. Peter Gadar and Outasight — “Sublime”
Goines has been working hard to distinguish himself among New York’s talent pool and may make his mark with next week’s mixtape release The Breakfast Club.
Tanya Morgan ft. Trackademicks — “What We Do”

J Dilla ft. Black Thought — “Reality TV”
Ma Dukes steps in to executive-produce the posthumous release Jay Stay Paid. The album features appearances from Raekwon, Diz Gibran, Lil Fame and more and is built around a radio-show format with Pete Rock as the program director.
