Attention, Billyburgers and other indie tribes: The last roundup at McCarren Park Pool will be on Saturday, August 30, with the old kids on the block, Sonic Youth, and yet-to-be-announced special guests. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday, at high noon; they’ll be $35 plus a shit-ton of fees at ticketmaster.com, or you can try the Nokia Theatre box office at 44th and Broadway, or 212-307-7171, or Earwax Records right there on the Bedford strip.
One way to be sure you’ll be awake and alert at noon is if you get up at dawn tomorrow to see Feist play one of those Good Morning America concerts in Bryant Park. Here’s some official direction from her record company: "When you arrive at Bryant Park stand on the general audience line that has formed at the back entrance of the park. This is a free concert open to the public. You do not need tickets. You may bring signs and wear T-shirts in support of the artist."
One assumes you could also be drinking a latte in support of her.
