  • Le Fooding d’Amour: Saturday night

The French came, they seduced us with their innately superior sense of cuisine and their preternaturally unclean hair, and then they left, leaving us stupefied, bewildered and satiated. Yes, the Feed hit Le Fooding d’Amour, the small but sweet event that happened this weekend in Queens at P.S.1. View the pros and cons after the jump. Read more »

Follow that truck!: NYC’s best street eats

The Feed isn’t above street eating: dirty water dogs, La Cense burgers, the Greene Ice Cream…hell, if it tastes good, we’d eat it in the bathroom. (Well, maybe not, but you get the picture…)

Hence, in a time of great mobile food expansion, we thought we’d share the best in the city, from the old guard to a new generation armed with Twitter feeds and (gasp!) business plans.

Great!, you think, but must I keep checking several different Twitter feeds to find out who’s around the corner? No, you do not: We’ve set up Mobile Feed NYC on Twitter, which collects all their feeds in one place for your convenience (and ours).

The following restaurants and bars are slated to open by June 3. Call ahead as opening dates vary.

Water Taxi Beach/South Street Seaport The expansion of Long Island City’s Water Taxi Beach starts with this giant sandy patch in lower Manhattan. Sip beers or mixed drinks while playing one of the many available games (Skee-Ball, minigolf). The Fish Shack dispenses beachy grub including burgers and Baja-style fish tacos. Stay tuned: The Governors Island location is expected to open in July. North side of Pier 17, Fulton St at South St (no phone yet)

Enoteca on Court Marco Polo owner Joseph Chirico and his son, Marco, have converted the restaurant’s takeout annex into this wine and small-plates bar. The international wine list was assembled by Charles Scicolone, who served as Enoteca i Trulli’s wine director for 11 years. Explore his handiwork in the rear garden. 347 Court St between President and Union Sts, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn (718-243-1000) Read more »
