Chef Michael Psilakis has a treat for your little ones this Halloween: All children under 12 can eat for free from Kefi’s kids’ menu all day long! That includes meatballs in tomato sauce, and a mini-Kefi burger with fries (both normally $6.95), among other things. Perhaps he’s banking on the kids being too sick from free candy to want to take advantage of the offer…

Mia Dona is Michael's no more
This just in: Everyone’s favorite Beauty and the Beast twosome, Michael Psilakis and Donatella Arpaia, have gone busto at midtown Mediterranean eatery Mia Dona. The pair’s rep just dropped word that Psilakis is leaving his role as executive chef and partner at the restaurant effective immediately.
This is the second break between the front-of-house doyenne and a chef-partner. The first, with David Burke last year, meant changes for UES stalwart davidburke & donatella (it recently reopened as David Burke Townhouse). Read more »

While the classic dishes are still top-notch at Daniel, “it’s the chef’s new creations that keep the food as fresh as the decor” for Jay Cheshes, who gives the redesigned restaurant six out of six stars. [TONY]
Despite the 30-minute wait to get a table and the hour-long wait for food, TONY found that “the misfires are relatively painless, the hits revelations” at Kefi. [TONY]
Though Prime Meats‘ “cocktail orthodoxy is more familiar than original” the “old-is-new-again” bar executes its tipples well enough to earn it four out of six stars from our bar reviewer. [TONY]
