Pancakes with fresh fruit
The place: Alchemy
The wait: Even on Easter Sunday, this gastropub was packed. Our party of three arrived at 12:30pm and we were offered seats at the bar, which we refused. The stools didn’t have backs (our pathetically lazy requirement for sitting on one for an extended period of time). We were told the wait for a table would be 15 minutes, but it ended up being just five.
The deal: No prix fixe. Harrumph. But all the prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. Read more »

The pancakes aren't that big—it's the plate that's small.
The place: Tbsp
The wait: We arrived at 1pm and, starving, glanced around anxiously for the hostess. No one seemed to know who should be seating us. After we were awkwardly scoping out the baked-goods case for a while, a waiter told us it’d be about five minutes. There were seats available, but places needed to be cleared. It’s an established fact: New York is a bruncher’s town. To help you decide where to sate your egg or syrup cravings (we hope not on the same plate), we introduce the second installment of our weekly brunch review. Today: Stone Park Cafe.
The place: 324 Fifth Ave at 3rd St, Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-369-0082)
The wait: We walked in at 12:30pm on a Saturday, and to our surprise, were immediately offered our pick of two tables in the airy back room. Upon leaving, however, we noticed a number of couples waiting at the bar, and outside, we peeked into a few strollers attached to hungry-looking moms. Read more »

Brunch at Cafe Orlin. (Photo: Courtesy of Cafe Orlin)
The Feed feels your pain. We know the allure of buttered toast, crisp bacon and a fluffy omelette on a Sunday morning. We are familiar with the thrill of happening upon an afternoon of unlimited mimosas with a side of eggs Benedict. As a bit of public service, we’ve set out to give you the lowdown on a different brunch each Friday (just in time for the weekend, natch), and let you know just what’s in store. Today: Cafe Orlin.
