The 2009 Vendy Awards invaded the far reaches of Queens last Saturday. Eleven vendors traded in their usual curbside parking spots for shrubbery-clad spaces in the garden outside of the Queens Museum of Art. Flooded by over a thousand people, the vendors were dishing up food as fast as possible, but the pace exceeded any lunchtime rush in midtown. The Feed isn’t above street eating: dirty water dogs, La Cense burgers, the Greene Ice Cream…hell, if it tastes good, we’d eat it in the bathroom. (Well, maybe not, but you get the picture…)
