Kampuchea, the popular Lower East Side Cambodian restaurant from chef Ratha Chau, can be a hard spot to squeeze into—the communal tables are often packed elbow to elbow with diners, as more jam into a small area by the door to wait their turn. Early next year, things should get a little more comfortable: The 900-square-foot space is expanding into the adjacent 750-square-foot storefront at 80 Rivington Street, nearly doubling its size. No word yet on exactly when the expansion will be complete, but expect some decor tweaks and menu changes, though many signature dishes will remain.
