The GUSTI Blog points our attention to this important Italian buffalo-milk scandal: According to the Corriere della Sera, 25 out of 40 farms searched by authorities in Campania were using an illegal hormone that augments milk production. The hormone, of course, was smuggled into Italy by the Neapolitan Camorra (think: Mafia). Perhaps New York businesses and consumers should stop buying these products in protest.
