Like little Peggy Olson, breaking the shackles of her Bay Ridge upbringing to live out her nine-to-five fantasy in Manhattan, so too will Toby’s Public House—the South Slope–Sunset Park pizzeria overseen by pizzaiolo Nicola Fortunata—try its hand across the river.
So says the spot’s owner Christine Iu, who rang this afternoon with the news. She’s hunting for a spot in Nolita or Soho (but she’ll do with midtown, too). In the realm of restaurant spaces, it’s certainly a buyer’s market. We wish Iu luck (and a word of advice: be on the lookout for this guy).
