First look: Drinks at Vinegar Hill House

Posted in Eat Out by Gabriella Gershenson on February 2nd, 2009 at 7:48 pm
The newly anointed cocktail list at Vinegar Hill House.

The new cocktail list at Vinegar Hill House.

Though the official wine list kicks off next week at the newly anointed liquor-license holder Vinegar Hill House, here’s a look at the very fresh drinks roster (there’s a soft spot in our heart for the brandy Alexander). As of last weekend, the just-secluded-enough restaurant was still BYOBm sans corkage fee. Next week, who knows? Stay tuned for more details…

after having been to Vinegar hill 3 times since the opening i don’t know why one would return. the menu is not very engaging and the hipness of it all became rediculous quite soon after the various articles in the ny press.
No more byo ? well, one less restaurant to venture too.

I have yet to understand the appeal of this restaurant. I live nearby and would rather go to Marlow & Sons for the same ambiance without the BYOB-trashed hipsters. Also, how the heck are those women in their hooker stilettos making the walk all the way from the F train? Thankfully, the hype has noticeably started to die…

The (comfort) food is delicious, server was super nice, ambiance was cozy. Too bad the neighborhood is full of people who can’t wait to hate their newest love.

I have eaten here twice and I love it! The staff is the greatest! Just wish there was a bigger bar as the wait for dinner can be on the long side and there’s little to no standing room. Can’t wait for spring/summer when they open up the courtyard in the back. Best of luck to Sam and Jean!

i have been many times to eat here and i am addicted. now they have a sweet little wine list that is supposed to get bigger. we had an incredible white for 19 dollars and then a gorgeous organic red for something like 30. it’s ten minutes from the east village on the f. to me its the perfect restaurant.
