Sugar…Samantha Ronson…sugar…pieces of ass handing out pieces of candy…sugar…Perrier-Jouet. That’s right, it was choices choices choices at the SWEET event, the world’s largest dessert party (according to fest organizer, Lee Schrager). More than 50 pastry chefs brought bite-size tastes of their seasonal, chocolatey, and other meal-ending flavors in a cavernous event space on 28th Street. Our top picks? Gramercy Tavern Nancy Olsen’s pumpkin custard with cranberries and crumble, and Park Avenue Autumn’s smashing figgy rice pudding. The moment that fed our egos most: Getting a concord-grape jelly, chocolate and peanut butter lollipop from the "VIP" reserves of Jean-Georges’ Johnny Iuzzini.
