"Mmm I’m a genius."
Such was the Morimoto’s recurring joke at his cooking demo this afternoon. Last time I met the Iron Chef he was sniffing my fingers, so I was grateful for the distance the Highline Ballroom seating plan provided.
His was one of the quieter events I attended this weekend. There was no Ray Ray hamming it up; no Anne Burrell getting down on the dancefloor. Just kurobuta pork, raw toro and some fine, fine cooking smells. Bonus sighting: Kate Krader making nice post-demo.
