    Franklin Park to expand

Posted in Eat Out by Jordana Rothman on July 2nd, 2008 at 6:14 pm

Jewish heartthrob-cum-bar-owner Matthew Roff dropped word today that Franklin Park will take over a neighboring storefront this fall—construction has already begun. The beer garden opened in April with a staggering 1,300 square feet of outdoor space and a handsome wainscoted interior; the expansion, a conversion of a former hardware store, will add another 2,000 square feet of breathing room to the mix.

“Business has been great in this area,” says Roff. “But as it starts to rain and the weather gets colder, I won’t have anywhere to put the customers.” The indoor annex will feature a second bar for cocktails and bottled beers (no taps), a working fireplace and a DJ booth.

You hear that, Crown Heights? Sabbath-flouting has never been this easy.

      “Sabbath-flouting?”

I assume Christian hipsters are allowed in there too.

I am so excited that Franklin Park is expanding. I just moved into the neighborhood about two months ago and discovering this place with my girlfriends was like heaven because it provides a cool atmosphere and my favorite beverage in the world…BEER!!!
