Hello, food lovers. Today marks that annual ritual, the TONY Eat Out Awards, in which we deign to recognize some of the city’s culinary achievers. (I’m kidding! We recognize great chefs and eateries every day. Just check out our Restaurants & Bars section.)
But the Eat Out Awards is kind of a big deal. So much so that (a) I wore a jacket today and (b) I will be LIVE-BLOGGING the event. What’s exciting is that I’m not a restaurant critic and hardly know who these people are, so I might do something stupid like asking Laurent Tourondel how long he would wait in line for a Shake Shack burger. Or telling Tom Colicchio he has no balls for picking Ilan over Marcel in Top Chef season two.
You just don’t know. You’ll have to tune in to see what happens (and to find out who won—duh!). Barring technical difficulties, I should have an initial post up around 7:15pm. (For now, you can see a sneak peek over at Eater.)
