It seems the ball has finally dropped at midtown evictee Le Madeleine. While attempting to reserve a spot for this evening, TONY learned that the 43rd Street stalwart closed up shop following last night’s service. "As most of you know, for the past three years we have tirelessly fought eviction by our landlord, Mark Scharfman," states owner Toney Edwards on the restaurant’s website (he could not be reached for further comment). "[He] has evicted us from this thriving business with 51 wonderful, exemplary employees, because he plans to demolish the site and build yet another high-rise apartment building in an already overcrowded area." Moving trucks are parked outside today, but where they’re headed is anyone’s guess.—Zachary Feldman
