The fan: Eat Out writer Alex Van Buren admits to an almost crippling addiction to the Vietnamese sandwiches at Hanco’s, a little banh mì–and-bubble-tea shop in Boerum Hill. Speedy delivery is the name of their game: after placing an order at 8:30 she had a bulging banh mì ($4.25 each) in hand by 8:46. The bread was still toasty warm, drizzled with precisely the right combo of butter and hot sauce, and the mild pâté, pale rounds of Vietnamese ham, and crumbly, greasy pork were topped with julienned cucumbers and carrots, and bright florets of cilantro. A $4.50 salad with mint, romaine and roasted peanuts came with sprightly sweet-and-sour dressing.
The container: Salads are served in snap-shut plastic containers, and sandwiches are wrapped in wax paper and tucked into a paper bag.
The extras: Salad comes with a small side of dressing, and each banh mì is accompanied by a small container of hot sauce. Utensils, napkins, a menu and a printed receipt come with your order.

Funny, considering Hanco’s is notorious for their ultra slow service. If only their sammy’s weren’t so delicious…
