Iconic kids’ rockers Dan Zanes and Friends have always tackles an eclectic mix of musical styles. But the band’s new album, 76 Trombones, goes somewhere they’ve never gone before: the Great White Way. Zanes and his cohorts not only reinterpret a number of musical theater standards, they welcome an array of Broadway bigwigs as guests, including Tony winners Carol Channing (who croons her signature song “Hello Dolly,” of course), Brian Stokes Mitchell (who sings “I Like Everybody” from The Most Happy Fella) and Matthew Broderick (who sings “Before the Parade Passes By” from Hello Dolly). 76 Trombones hits stores November 17 and Time Out Kids is giving away three copies.
