  • The Jonas Bros quit music!*

Posted in In the news, Music by Christy Purington on July 8th, 2009 at 5:04 pm

719ftx300jonas*Just for a day, of course. If you (and your teeny-bopper-obsessed kiddos) haven’t already seen our sister pub’s uber-hyped cover story on the Jonas Brothers, it’s about time you clicked through. In addition to the fun photos, check out the trio’s music picks, their NYC event selections and more—all 100% Jonas approved in this week’s special issue guest-edited by the siblings. Your tweens will dig it, obviously, as do many of us here at TONY (even the skeptics). They certainly cast a spell!

    Check out the story now!

    Kevin Jonas’s engagement ring pics!

Posted in In the news by Christy Purington on July 2nd, 2009 at 4:25 pm

picture-2Okay, the dirt on the eldest J-Bro being engaged is old news at this point (after all, the story broke a whole  20 hours ago), but we can’t help but follow all the details. Photos of the bling that Kevin, 21 (!!!!) gave to his “longtime girlfriend” Danielle Deleasa, 22, have just been released. According to MTV, the ring is a 3-carat solitaire cushion-cut diamond, surrounded by 210 round brilliant-cut pave diamonds. Have your tweens fainted from jealousy yet?

    Jonas Brothers announce world tour

Posted in In the news, Music, What's going on by Christy Purington on March 11th, 2009 at 1:22 pm

jonas-brothers-and-russell-brandDespite the Jonas Brothers’ box office bomb of a movie, which only brought in $13 million its opening weekend (predictions were as high as $40 million!), the boys have announced their world tour.  The tour, which kicks off June 20, includes concerts on three continents and features tunes from their upcoming album (title TBD), set to drop on June 15. Appearances in NYC include July 14 at the Izod Center and July 20 at Nassau Coliseum. American Idol alum Jordin Sparks will be opening for the bros.

“This tour is going to be about really connecting with our fans,” Joe Jonas remarked.  “We’ve got new music that’s taking us in new directions, plus a mind-blowing production that’s going to surprise everyone.” Surprise you say, Joe? Will you be parting your bangs differently? Did you purchase a new vest? Skinny jeans tighter than ever?! YES!! We can hardly stand the anticipation.

Tickets go on sale March 28 at 10am. Get online early to snag tix!

    Jonas Bros creepin’ round theaters

Posted in Film, In the news by Christy Purington on February 26th, 2009 at 2:10 pm

picture-12If your tween isn’t already counting down the minutes until tomorrow’s release of Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience, she (or he) will now: The trio will reportedly be showing up “unexpectedly” in theaters throughout the country–though there won’t be any notice as to where or when. Maybe the hearthrobs could skip NYC altogether–but we’d bet our “I heart Joe Jonas” pencil case that they won’t.

Screenings start tonight at midnight, for parents who are actually willing to stay up and escort their Jonas-hungry kids to the show.

    • Pint-size reporter sends plea to Obama

Damon Weaver just has one little request: To interview the President elect during his inauguration. Once you watch his request below, you’ll agree that he’s pretty hard to resist. Do you think Barack will put his Presidential obligations on hold to chat with the 10-year-old?

    • Kiddie couture on the rise

Most retailers experienced one of the worst shopping seasons in history (though amazon.com claims to have had one of its best), but the designer childrenswear market seems to be doing better than ever. High-profile clothiers like Jean-Paul Gaultier are developing lines for tots while Burberry and other upscale retailers are opening shops devoted to the shorter set. Recession? What recession?

    • Jonas brothers overload continues

It’s safe to say that the Jonas brothers juggernaut hasn’t run its course. In May, the new show JONAS hits Disney airwaves, and perezhilton.com has a sneak peek into what is destined to be a tween TV staple. Click here to watch the clip.

    • Cash for kid pics

Bristol Palin has reportedly sold photos of her baby boy, Tripp (hey, it’s better than Bronx) for $300,000 to People. The tot was born just five days ago on December 28.

    • Are you resolution ready?

You probably already have about a billion New Year’s resolutions you plan to tackle this year, but we loved this list from Mommy Track’d. Sure, some of them are obvious, but most are worth keeping in mind as you embark on another chaotic kid-filled year.
