Famed for its live show in the ’90s, a recently reunited Jesus Lizard proved the highlight of this past summer’s Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park. Last night, the band cemented that rep for explosive, spontaneous, rhythm-heavy mayhem at the Metro. The quartet returns to Wrigleyville tonight for another performance.

NOTE: Despite bruised ribs incurred from a fall at Metro last night, David Yow WILL perform tonight. See press release from Metro in comments section.

Hi there, for any fans concerned after seeing David fall last night, be assure he is okay and the show will go on -
For Immediate Release: Jesus Lizard show WILL go on tonight
During last night’s encore, Jesus Lizard’s David Yow accidentally fell into the floor while crowdsurfing and injured himself. Metro’s emergency medical technician treated him at the club immediately. To ensure that his condition was not serious, an ambulance was called and he was taken to a local hospital. After a few hours of observation, doctors thankfully determined that although he does have some bruised ribs, his condition is stable and he is otherwise fine. He was released, is currently resting, and WILL perform tonight.
Thank you Jenny, was just about to post something to that effect.
You would think David Yow was the only member of the band from this slideshow. I thought the most impressive part of this concert was Mac McNeilly. He was amazing.
