He’s been embedded with the Light of Day Institute’s elite commando group, performed incredible feats of landscaping and lady-loving in Bon Temps, narrowly escaped a murder rap, and somehow managed to stay mostly non-bugged-eyed during this season of True Blood. But can Jason Stackhouse (Aussie actor Ryan Kwanten) handle the girls of Chicago’s enclave? The former Home and Away cast member Kwanten hosted the season wrap party (the club decor looked a little spooky—but not exactly scary) and an Akira fashion show—surprise guest Nelsan Ellis (who plays character Lafayette Reynolds on the HBO series) also showed up—along with a lot of young and frisky Fang bangers. Honestly folks, I stuck around about as long as I could—I had a soul dance party to hit and it started to get a bit tight inside the joint—but from what I could see, the hearthrob Kwanten was more than a bit stunned by his reception at the Chicago club—or perhaps that quizzical Stackhouse look comes naturally to him. Girls yelled “Take off your shirt” as the rising star sat at a bottle-service table just above the dance floor—and Kwanten soon edged back from the gang and out of view. He may hang out with shapeshifters and vampires, but evidently he’s still working up to the role of party animal.
