The Bricklayers Theatre Company has reworked its outer-space–set version of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, first seen last fall at the Athenaeum in a co-production with the French troupe Collectif Masque, as a tourable outdoor show, with dates booked around Wisconsin and Minnesota. (TOC’s Zac Thompson favorably reviewed the Chicago run.) But artistic director Matt Trucano reports some unfortunate news about this weekend’s planned appearance in North Freedom, Wisconsin (home of the Mid-Continent Railway Museum, dontcha know): “A septic tank exploded on Saturday—right underneath the area that was to be our stage,” he says. With co-director Mariana Araoz in from France and a cast member in from New York for the weekend, Trucano’s making the best of a, um, shitty situation. Thanks to a sweet deal from Theatre Building Chicago, Bricklayers will be mounting two performances of Twelfth Night at TBC this weekend. Catch it Saturday 17 at 7:30pm or Sunday 18 at 3pm; tickets are $20 at the door.

Many thanks Kris for putting this out there… The tickets are actually $10! So exciting. Hope you can make it to the show!
