It can be tiresome searching festival tents for those souvenirs by which we’ll remember our Chicago summers. But occasionally the steadfast shopper is rewarded with a great find, something, perhaps, uniquely Chicago. Case in point: the Inkorporated Skin tent at Andersonville’s Midsommar Festival, where Scott M. sells tattoo and graffiti art printed on leather–bags, purses, wallets, belts and shoes. “Tattoo artists use skin as a canvas,” says Scott. “Leather is skin as well, it’s a natural fit, another platform for them to get their art out there.” Scott contracts tattoo artists all over the country and prints the wallets in Detroit. I picked up a koi fish design by Chicago artist Rich Marifioti ($18) and a traditional American design by a Florida-based artist on a smaller coin purse ($8), both of which will have to satiate until I can afford a real tattoo. Inkorporated Skin will be at the Taste of Randolph and the Body Art Expo at Navy Pier this weekend, and select festivals all summer.

Cool stuff. I will be by this weekend for sure.
this stuff looks fun & different - anxious to see it at the festival.
