After opening last August then staying open for less time than it takes George Foreman to do a roll call of his kids, iCream is giving it another shot and re-opening tomorrow. Those who visited iCream in its rocky beginnings might remember that the main issue was that the ice cream wasn’t, well, ice cream. It was more like liquid cream. The principal idea behind the shop is that you can customize your own flavors of ice cream and via a Kitchen Aid mixer and some liquid nitrogen, your concoction will be flash-frozen into ice cream before your very eyes.
The owners admit that there were a few struggles in the first go-round, but are happy to report they’ve ironed out the kinks and are hoping people will give them another shot. I say best of luck to ‘em. And for those naysayers out there responding with cranky “ice-cream-in-March???” comments, have you been outside today? Or were you too busy calling 311 on your neighbors and ordering from Home Shopping Network?
