Milwaukeeans might sneeze at our Friday night fish frys (since we don’t have a Serbian social hall or a brewpub with an oompah band serving up crispy fillets), but we do have a few good options of our own here in Chicago. One of my favorites is found at the Irish-to-its-core Chief O’Neill’s, which is putting out its regular Friday night all-you-can-eat fish ‘n’ chips for only ten bucks tonight. In addition to its Harp beer-battered cod with skin-on fries, housemade tartar sauce and slaw, there’s a roaring fire, perfect pints of Guinness for $4 and martinis on special for $5, should you decide to start the night with the hard stuff before moving into the stout. If so, those never-ending platters of fried food should come in handy.
