Please ignore my lame attempt at a headline (I’ve never been to Vegas, so I tend to rely heavily on the cliches surrounding it) and focus on this exciting piece of news: Shawn McClain has partnered with City Center, MGM’s massive, $9 billion complex in Las Vegas, and will be working on a restaurant concept there.
This is the first project outside of Chicago for Shawn McClain, as well as the first restaurant of his that his Chicago partners, Peter and Sue Kim-Drohomyrecky, will not be involved in. (Happily, the Drohomyreckys are reportedly very supportive of the project.) Details about what the restaurant will look like or serve are still sketchy—more information will follow in the coming weeks. But don’t get worried that our boy is leaving us—I’m told that in terms of McClain’s Chicago spots, nothing will change.

sounds very interesting, good for him that he is becoming a nationally known chef
